À propos de ce film

Based on a true story, The Pianist tells the story of brilliant Polish pianist, Wladyslaw Szpilman (ACADEMY AWARD WINNER, Adrien Brody), a Jew, who escapes deportation. Forced to live in the heart of the Warsaw ghetto, he shares the humiliation and the struggles of the occupation whilst hiding in the ruins of the capital. From acclaimed director Roman Polanski, who won an Oscar for the film, as did Ronald Harwood for his script.

A film depicting the horrors of the Nazi occupation of Poland and Jewish suppression as seen through the eye of a concert pianist. All aspects of the production and especially the cinematography are superb in creating 1940s Warsaw. The menacing and terrifying NAZI brutality along with the accompanying inhumanity leaves you with a deep historical imprint on the soul.

Very good film, have watched this one several times. Very realistic at times, and a showing of the hard period that the Jews were put through!

In the beginning the movie states that the polish army was defeated in 3 weeks, false. Nevertheless, the movie is a must!
