'The Picture (but it's a painting) Of Dorian Gray' is a film that's basically a predecessor to The Twilight Zone. There's a devil's deal which comes with some sort of caveat that a moral lesson can be learned from. The small use of color film in this B&W movie is striking, the final form of the picture (painting) is startling, and the dialogue is biting. FYI, there is a heavily implied idea that a ancient God in a cat statue grants Dorain's wish.

FANTASTIC movie, with great performances by George Sanders, Hurd Hatfield, Donna Reed and Angela Lansbury, and Great Black and White Cinematography with Color Inserts. This is the best adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Novel!

I've loved this movie since I was a child. It is absolutely wonderful. The acting is incredible. And the image of that painting once it's gone through its transformation will haunt you.
