Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks share the screen for the first time in Steven Spielberg's THE POST, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post's Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race against time to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers - and their very freedom - to help bring long-buried truths to light.

I enjoyed the movie- partly for the nostalgic throwback to a bygone era. If I had watched the film 15 years ago, I would have believed the scenes more. Given the popularity of feminism in recent years, I feel that the content is biased towards female power struggles/triumph. Must say I didn't really see the "tough call" the Post had to make- telling the truth when the government did wrong, will rarely get into trouble.

Very interesting to know the role the press played in exposing US Government lies. Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks were, as always, wonderful

An intelligent film depicting a woman of quiet strength taking the reins of a great news publication in a man's world. A story of great courage and integrity in the face of bullying from a corrupt government. Great acting and a realistic script. Timely viewing, methinks. :-)
