I have a close friend who absolutely hates this move. Each time I have quoted the movie in conversation; he gets upset. I have never been able to understand how someone could see past the genius of this film and only focus on the campy, silly, "art film" exterior. Robert Reiner created something from his heart and his experience. It is clear that this movie is truly his gift to us. A funny, campy, "art" film that is quotable and memorable as can be. This is one of my favorite films and it does not matter who loves or hates it. It is too good, and too excellent to not enjoy.... as we all wish.

Beautiful, heart-warming, family movie; the fairytale to rival the best: timeless. Movie's are meant to transport us to another world. There are no divisions when we sit together and enjoy the small treasures in life. We love together and "The Princess Bride" gives us that gift of love from the very first scene with Peter Falk as the Grandfather helping occupy his laid up, but impatient grandson transcending generations with patience and small acts showing what love really is.

You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is 'never get involved in a land war in Asia' - but only slightly less well-known is this: 'Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line!' Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! This same character said: What?! Probably some local fisherman, out for a pleasure cruise at night........... in eel infested waters.
