Sarah (Taylor Schilling) is the mother of a young son Miles, whose disturbing behaviour signals that an evil, possibly supernatural force has overtaken him. Fearing for her family’s safety, Sarah must choose between her maternal instinct to love and protect Miles and a desperate need to investigate what – or who – is causing his dark turn. She is forced to look for answers in the past, taking the audience on a wild ride; one where the line between perception and reality becomes frighteningly blurry.

Presented with a fresh idea that develops well and at a good pace through the film despite some predictablity. Then comes the ending. It leaves you underwhelmed and throws effort out of the window. It seems like the writers got bored by the end and went with the predictable endings that most horror films do. Worth a watch but don't expect anything amazing.

Not a bad film no real surprises, but the acting is solid and worth a watch, especially if you like the creepy kid genre. The film is only an hour and a half which is perfect length for the film.

Ignore the low Rotten tomatoes score! Thrilling, sometimes chilling - this is very well acted, written and it's refreshingly original.
