For those trying to choose between the original and this version, don't bother. They are both different movies and can't be compared. I love the original but I also love this one. Don't ruin two great movies by trying to pick a favourite.

First of all, Mel Brooks. That should be enough to warrant you to buy this. Secondly, this is a graceful update to the Gene Wilder version. It's silly, goofy, and a great movie for theatre geeks and 'normal' people alike.

Stay far FAR away from this version and watch the original with Gene Wilder and Zero Mostel. That is the only version of this movie worth seeing
