Rates are low, décor is rococco art deco and the clientele is...convivial. As a Cleveland sanitation company owner reasons, this New York all-male bathhouse is ideal for hiding from his murderous brother-in-law.

But what this new arrival and his fellow patrons get is an exercise in manic mayhem from director Richard Lester, bringing Terrence McNally's hit Broadway farce to spicy screen life. I was barely old enough to drive to the theater in the Big City. I had no idea what I was getting into. I laughed, I was amazed to see people like me on the big screen. It was magical. And F. Murray Abrams! And Treat Williams, in basically a tea towel. Bestill my heart! And Rita Moreno eating every bit of scenery she could get ahold of. A Blessing.
