One of the few movies I've seen more than once, although I've watched the theatrical productions even more! No one really knows what makes this zany movie addictive, but I'll tell you what I think it is: a wink to movie culture! (Think about spoof movies these days where they're picking on movies like Scream, but in a much bigger way, and lots more fun.) It starts off, you think they're all going to be vampires. Then you think it's going to be a take-off on Frankenstein. Then you think it's something to do with Rock N Roll. Eventually, you realize it's all that and more. If you haven't seen any production of RHPS, do yourself a favor before watching this movie: do some research. Look up some funny call-outs and props. This way, you and whoever you view this with can have interactive fun with the show. THAT'S what made it famous! Good starters: A bit of newspaper for each viewer, and a squirt gun or water sprayer, as well. When Janet runs through the rain (you'll know it when you see it), guard your head with the paper, and start raining down on your co-spectators! Enjoy the fun!

There's a reason why this movie has maintained a worldwide following for thirty-nine years and counting. Although the movie itself gets better the more times you watch it, seeing a performance in a theater with a live cast, callbacks, and everyone dancing the Time Warp together is the ideal way to enjoy this, THE cult-classic.

I first became aware of this movie back in the late 70s when I was in the Air Force. My roommate played the soundtrack over and over again, and it started to grow on me. By the time I saw the movie a few years later, I already knew all the songs by heart. Rocky Horror is about as much fun as you can have watching a movie.
