The film follows two friends, Joan Jett (KRISTEN STEWART) and Cherie Currie (DAKOTA FANNING), as they rise from rebellious Southern California kids to rock stars of the now legendary group that paved the way for future generations of girl bands. They fall under the Svengali-like influence of rock impresario Kim Fowley (MICHAEL SHANNON), who turns the group into an outrageous success and a family of misfits. With its tough-chick image and raw talent, the band quickly earns a name for itself and so do its two leads: Joan is the band's pure rock' n' roll heart, while Cherie, with her Bowie-Bardot looks, is the sex kitten. Enjoyed this! I was a big fan of Lita Ford, it's a SHAME that her story wasn't told. She's awesome, so talented & beautiful! Her poster was on every rockers wall in the 80s! Joan Jett is great too, dif style and very successful, so at least they had 1 of the badass Runaways !!

Not enough Lita Ford! Scout did a great job and more screen time/storyline would have made the movie much cooler. Lita was only offered $1000 for her life story. Ridiculous.

I just watched this movie and i loved it i thought it had a great story great cast great acting i did not now alot about the runawasys but i learned alot really good worth seeing
