For the last 40 years, the photographer Sebastião Salgado has been traveling through the continents, in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed some of the major events of our recent history; international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He is now embarking on the discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project which is a tribute to the planet's beauty.

Beautifully epic tale of the destructive and redemptive power of humans as told from someone who saw it first hand around the globe. The images in this film are stunning and Wenders brings Salgado to life in a way that came across as effortless and drew me in. This is not a fast paced film, but there is an arc and its message and archetypal ties to family, struggle, culture, and environment had an impact on me.

One word - "WOW". This really is a documentary that needs to be seen by everyone! His photography is extraordinary. His message of his photos - even more. This is one documentary that will leave an impression on you for the rest of your life!

A film about one thing, yet manages to somehow make itself about everything. My favorite documentary.
