この映画について

From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER - an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

I avoided any spoilers before watching this movie because I thought it was going to be good, based off the trailer I thought it was going to be a nice film about rescuing a creature that needed help getting home but nope! Spoiler alert! Why the hell did she have to be such a sexual person? Like did they really have to make her that way, the film would've been much better if it didn't revolve around sex so much. I'm glad I didn't spend much to rent this, I was very disappointed with the way things progressed throughout the movie.

Honestly, guys, this film is overrated. There are a lot of unrealistic characters and the worst part is the character development. One expects a different version of Beauty and the Beast, but this film is pretty disgusting. Instead of the main protagonist and the fish creature growing to love eachother for who they are, the girl just uses this creature for sex. No really. They never have a conversation or reveal the creatures intelligence at any point in the movie. The creature is animal-like in every aspect of the word. It acts like a chimpanzee, barks, and eats cats. Why does the main protagonist find this behavior such a turn on? The movie never needed a "romance" it's the equivalent to Free Willy only if they tried to shoehorn a romance between the kid and the whale.... I'm sorry. Is that gross? If you think so, do not watch this movie. It is really bad.

Artless and tired, yet another meaningless attempt at subverting American culture in a time when nearly everyone knows better, and attitudes and practices have moved into a more enlightened time. Terrible dialogue and one dimensional characters are just the surface problems. Incredibly unrealistic and juvenile, boring to even the actors as anyone can see. Offensive to anyone with real disabilities .
