From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER - an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment. Rounding out the cast are Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones.

I normally do not write reviews, however this movie impacted on me in a way few films do. Absolutely beautiful. It is not a movie for everyone as evidenced by other viewers negative comments. This movie you accept as an adult fairy tale and just lose yourself in it or do not rent it at all. It is a beautiful fantasy and personally I found it spellbinding.

For me, and many others I hope, there are movies and films. Movies are crappy action, sex oriented or made to degrade life. Films are made to inspire you, make you think or expose a truth. This one is a FILM.

I am a big fan of this movie. Yes a chick flick, romantic yes even though its about fish love but u definitely find yourself engrossed in it n hoping its a happy ending for the deaf girl.
