Academy Award winner Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall star in director Stanley Kubrick's disturbing adaptation of Stephen King's blockbuster horror novel. When writer Jack Torrance (Nicholson)--who has a history of alcoholism and child abuse--takes a job as winter caretaker for a hotel high in the Rocky Mountains, he, his wife (Duvall) and their psychic young son will be isolated until spring. But once the first blizzard closes the road out, the accumulated power of evil deeds committed at the hotel begins to drive Jack mad. Now there may be no escape for his wife and son in this haunting madness, memory and family violence.

Needs so much patience to watch this. It's like a fan running 1. Slowest movie I'd every watched. Nothing terrifying. Just boring as snail. My 3 year old rides his cycle faster than this. Movie is too much spoon feeded . You can expect what happens next.

Very Much Terrifying! The sounds and the screenplay of this movie is just, you know.....psychologically scary. There are no creepy faces in the movie! Just pure scary background music and screenplay which gives you goosebumps very time!! 😨😨😨😨😨

I think this movie is a best dinner for all those people who love psychological horror movies.steven king is indeed the best author for horror genre
