An utterly wonderful piece of writing and film making. It's opened my eyes and the quality of this work will surely do the same for many others I'm certain. Twenty one minutes and so many of the issues surrounding deafness, brought into pin sharp focus. Hopefully the bloody well deserved OSCAR WIN and surrounding publicity will initiate a campaign. I fully expect there will be a lot more signers... well at least one more. Congratulations to the Silent Child team; what do they say "tell me and I might remember, show me and I'll understand." That goes for us all. Now where's my hankie!

Thinking to myself while watching this, "Do parents actually do this to there children?" Turns out they do. An amazing short film, deserving of the Oscar! Sheds light on an issue I knew nothing about and makes me want to learn sign language. The two main characters are great and convincing, made me tear up, especially Libby (Maisie)!

Amazing storytelling, I am currently writing a script for a short film that is based on a true story. It's about my best friend who went through sudden hearing loss at the age of 9. Even though doctors doubted his success in school, we graduated from our bachelors together and he was an honored student, unlike me. He is a creative and successful person and I believe his story deserves to be told. This movie is helping me a lot to build my story. Great work!
