This is why I hate The Snowman especially if you've read the book: 1. The pacing of the film makes it dull. 2. The film's story is difficult to follow - and I'VE READ THE BOOK 3. It's sad to see such a brilliant ensemble ruined Yes I understand that films are different from books. However, this a bad film whether or not you've read the book. However, when you've read the book and see how fantastic it is, it hurts even more.

Brilliant thriller. I thought the actors were great, but a few mistakes in one image suddenly jumping to the next. It's a bit weird the film being about a snowman, it could have been a better theme. But I did keep on thinking the actor playing the main part could be the next Bond though.

Please take note of the other reviews - I wish I had. This film is utterly awful, and it's more of a mystery how Jo Nesbo signed it off. More disjointed than the body parts within, it feels like all the editor cuts from the floor were spliced loosely together in a vague approximation of the story. I've read this book and loved it, but the film is a travesty, the actors should be embarrassed by both their performance in it (don't start me on Val Kilmer's role) and the total editorial hash made of it...Mr Scorsese what were you thinking? Please, heed the advice of me and those before me, save your pennies and time - this dog's dinner is really not worth it, and ruins my memory of a very decent novel. The only redeeming feature in the whole film is the natural scenery. Utter pants.
