This movie is just STUPID. There's barely any island action, the acting and dialouge are terrible, mist of the movie is circus's and this ramdom woman's unimportant backstory. Little Kong isn't very cute, all the important stuff that happens on the island is them meeting little kong, he saves them from a couple monsters, and then dies. The heroes get treasure and Denham doesn't realise Little Kong's benevolence until after he dies. Generally stupid, boring, and downright BAD.

Son of Kong (1933) is a weird and out of place sequel. It focuses on Carl Dunham after the events of the original King Kong film. He struggles to leave his home without being questioned about Kong, and eventually meets up with the man who gave him the map to skull island, but now discovers there's a treasure hidden in skull island. The film is campy, ridiculous, and down right dumb. The effects are once again great in this film, but the film just feels rushed.

In 1933, RKO released King Kong, which went on to become a commercial success. The same cannot be said of Son of Kong(1933). Hastily thrown together story and effects make for a film that, like its' animated star, hasn't matured yet. RKO just wanted to make a quick dollar off Kong. Bottom line: It's worth a rental, but.nothing really beyond that.
