This was a musical that my grandmother CONTINUOUSLY bought for me since I was a little girl and became my open door to singing and music and also faith. She must have seen a message in it all. Since I saw Lady Gaga perform those songs at the Grammy awards, my love for this movie/musical has been rekindled.

An absolutely wonderful film that extols the value of family and how if there is true love between all of it's members, one can find the courage to weather any storm(as the Nazi occupation was in this case)and come out victorious in the end. And it also doesn't denigrate the value of religious faith, and made it clear that either path that Maria took(wife and mother, or Catholic nun) would be an equally valid choice. Some wonderfully uplifting songs as well, such as " Climb Every Mountain".

It's the most enchanting movie of a Nanny in opupiex Germany, whom is involved with the Teachings of at least a Dozen Children in The area of the Alps. It's the most beautiful movie of Tea her and " her charges", that bring life into this Widower and his ailing Children. Exceptional acting, dancing and singing in the hills of where they are finally free to express themselves. Truly an absolute Classic Movie from the early! Mid 1960,s. This is pure enjoyment throughout Movie:)
