Mannered, meticulous, methodical. Peter (Peter Sarsgaard) is a self-taught scientist in the highly specialized profession of “house-tuning” - calibrating the sound in people’s homes in order to adjust their moods. When he tries to “cure” his new client Ellen (Rashida Jones), his inability to fix her issues drives him to question his life’s work.

This is a quiet and unusual story but it is well worth watching for the performances of Jones and Sarsgaard.
