NOTICE: Trigger-warning for a scene of non-consensual erotic asphyxiation, typical R-rated violence and suicidal ideation. The movie starts out almost like a low-budget British-style 'Unbreakable'. It quickly becomes its own and there is no comic-book feel to this movie. I did not expect to really like this movie. I started it up as something to watch while cooking & cleaning. By the end I was doing nothing but watching the movie. And the ending (which I will not spoil) actually left me in tears (no joke, and insanely unusual) around themes on the value of life and the consequences of our actions. Filmography was very well done. This is essentially a noir film and the director and camera work both focused on human expressions with fine detail. The soundtrack is low-key. Simple, quiet and not distracting. Violence is a key part of this movie but is not gratuitous. By the true end it has become a Tragedy about a recent tragedy caused by a prior tragedy. The message seems like it will be settled near the end, but as with all good noir it twists. I would not be surprised to find the theme and layout of the plot were taken directly from either an Opera, or something Shakespearean

Goes to show how a crime unpunished can become a curse and those supporting the crook can suffer the consequences.Reminds me of a real life story of a criminal defense lawyer from a wealthy neighborhood in NY. Someone wanted to exact revenge on him. While he & his wife were driving home, he was forced to pull over by another car. The driver got out & shot the lawyer in the chest & his wife. Lawyer survived, but wife died, leaving his children motherless. This man defended crooks in court. Talk about Karma.

This movie doesn't get the credit it deserves. Google - I would recommend shortening the description of this film a bit. I watched this movie without reading the description, and ended up loving it. Going back and reading the description afterwards, i feel as though i would have enjoyed the film less had i read the description beforehand. Just a suggestion. More importantly, this was a great movie and worth watching.
