Horror-master, John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York) teams Kurt Russell's outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Once unfrozen, the form-changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.

Quite an experience, through and through! I'm not sure why critics hated this thing(ya see what I did there?😉) when it hit theaters. John Carpenter, you are a genius!

Love the movie, but those that think the movie from 2011 is a remake obviously didn't watch until the end. The ending very much hints that it's a prequel.

Classic Horror! John Carpenter's masterpiece has been remade and imitated, but this is still the best version by far. The practical effects are fantastic and still hold up against modern cgi, and the sense of paranoia and claustrophobia is perfectly executed.
