From my vantage point, the definitive romantic time travel movie is the classic 1980 Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeves and Jane Seymour. Sad to say, The Time Traveler's Wife falls well short in comparison because while it has a bit of romantic sentimentality, it's bogged down by a terribly muddled and eye-rolling time travel element. The time traveler played by Eric Bana has a bizarre genetic condition that causes him to randomly jump back and forth in time like a ping pong ball, ergo the audience is subjected to keeping up and trying to make sense out of the senseless. They say love conquers but the time plot was simply too preposterous and confusing; if they have made it a farcical comedy, it might have worked.

If you just look at the movie by itself, it's not too bad. But if you loved the book, don't have your expectations too high. - Lauren

2016(e)ko abuztuaren 23(a) Its a sweet, romantic story with some good science fiction. Haven't read the book so I can't compare. On its own, its great. I don't particularly like romantic movies but I really loved this one.
