This is a story about clothing. It’s about the clothes we wear,  the people who make those clothes and the impact it’s having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking new documentary film that pulls back the curtain on an unseen part of our world and asks us each to consider, who pays the price for our clothing? Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth, Vandana Shiva and many more. This unprecedented project invites us all on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.

Incredibly impactful! The film so clearly shows the immense human and environmental costs of our cheap and disposable fashion and outlines how our rapacious consumption (as well as the growth based economic system which stimulates it) need to be radically changed.

Watching this documentary is eye-opening to the point that anyone watching should not be able to, with good conscience, buy clothing from most of today's top clothing retailers. The truth hit me hard in this documentary unlike anything I've ever watched before. It gives a face and a story to the people that are being sacrificed daily so that we can buy more clothes that we don't need. Watch this film. Learn what the cost of making your clothes is. Stop consuming at the cost of millions of people.

This movie really opened my eyes to the horrible conditions that garment workers are exposed to. It's truly sad.
