About this movie

In this powerful faith-based drama from executive producer Terrence Malick (The Tree of Life), Martin Sheen (The West Wing, The Departed) stars as a local priest of a Latin American fishing village recovering from a tsunami that washed away dozens of elementary school students. Ten years later, a young villager drowns and miraculously comes back to life, making the whole town wonder if he is a sign from God.

Very quiet and subdued movie about a small village coping with loss. Definitely has the mark of Terrence Malick (producer) upon it with it's dreamy floating camera work and narration overlapping shots. Don' know if it's pulled off as successfully as when he himself directs though. A family can watch this with very little to offend. There are no bad Martin Sheen performances and he continues that string of solid acting here.

Felt very childish in tone, which is a disappointment considering the amazing visuals.
