Walter (Academy-Award®-nominee Richard Jenkins) is a disaffected college professor who has been drifting aimlessly through his life. When, in a chance encounter on a trip into New York, Walter discovers a couple has taken up residence in his apartment in the city, he develops an unexpected and profound connection to them that will change his life forever. As challenges arise for his tenants Tarek (Haaz Sleiman) and Zainab (Danai Gurira), Walter finds himself compelled to help his new friends, and rediscovers a passion he thought he had lost long ago.

The Visitor (2007) is an emotional tale of self discovery late in life and the so called American dream. With a career defining performance by Richard Jenkins you are in for a "reel" treat. The movie has the newcomers Haaz Sleiman and Danai Gurira along with the always great Hiam Abbass.

I very seldom am drawn to movies, but this one I will never forget. It was complex and full of emotional dignity....I will purchase this movie for my personal collection! Donna R.

OMG this movie is so powerful. it is heartfelt and sad all in one. i loved it i would recommend to anyone.
