This is a typical Hollywood adaptation (read: complete rewrite) of a great book. This movie skews from the book so far it shouldn't be allowed to carry the same title. Basically the only part that stays consistent with the book is that they are in a wreck and she loses her memory. The book is encouraging and uplifting, showing the difficulties along the way. The movie tries to create fake drama outside of the obvious "her losing her memory" issue, and then ends horribly. SPOILER ALERT - The thing I just couldn't stand is that the book is clear that divorce was never an option, and even the title of the book/movie hints that this "Vow" should carry some weight, and yet the couple gets divorced in the movie. Completely unnecessary break from the true story. I guess that's Hollywood for ya.

In my honest opinion, I think another actor should've played the role of Leo. No offense to Tatum and his past movies, but I couldn't see any acting worthy of me shedding a tear for him, except hatred for him in the way he would treat Paige post-accident. On the plus-side, I loved Rachel McAdams and the beautiful storyline. Overall okay movie.

The movie had nothing to do with the book or the true story in the book it talks about her having incredible faith in God and even at the end of the book they say this story isn't about me or even my wife this stories about what God can do and what he can bring you through. But like everything else they completely took God out of it. I was so disappointed, the book was so inspirational and had such a spiritual meaning to it and they screwed it all up.
