Beo Fulci, a young quantum physics researcher, has disappeared with his supervisor in mysterious circumstances. He was working on a revolutionary project when a short circuit caused a fire that blew up the laboratory. Although a year has passed since that day and Beo is nowhere to be found, his fourteen-year-old brother Max, a boy with a lively intelligence, has never lost hope. In Beo's absence, the boy finds comfort in his two closest friends – Flebo, fourteen, a clumsy and fidgety gaming and tech enthusiast, and Greta, a bold young woman of fifteen – although the pain of losing Beo makes him difficult and aloof. One evening, as the three friends are eating pizza in front of the scorched ruins of the lab, they end up discovering a dusty control panel, a strange time machine, and the way to make it work, finding themselves in 1939 in a Rome shaken by racial laws, among Fascist militias and censorship. This is where Beo got lost and it is through him that the teenagers will try saving the world from the threat of a weapon that might change the course of History.
