Om den här filmen

Corey Woods (Fred Savage) breaks his emotionally troubled brother, Jimmy (Luke Edwards), out of an institution and they head for California. On the way, Corey realizes that Jimmy's a world-class video gamer, and a girl (Jenny Lewis) they meet on the road leads them to a gaming competition. With their family and a bounty hunter in pursuit, the boys set their sights on the big tournament, where they hope to haul in the $50,000 prize.

Fond memories. Oh how the rose-colored glasses tease. Look, I remember seeing this movie in the theater back in the day and knew it was bad. Even as a nine-year-old kid I knew it was bad. But seeing it twenty years later...man, I didn't know it was THIS bad. It should be a typical coming-of-age road story with a somewhat touching background and finale; it's not. They really blew this one. It's just god-awful, and even the 80s-tastic triple-threat of Fred Savage, Christian Slater, and a Bridges boy can't save it. Even the Coreys are shaking their heads on this one. I can't in good conscience (even as a Nintendo fan of old) rate this one terribly high.

Forgot the rating system was different then, the cussing was more like PG-13 not elementary kid appropriate. Still a cheesy classic

For videogame fans this is a trip down memory lane. True... it's basically a Nintendo commercial for the then unreleased Super Mario Bros. 3 but with that being said it's still a lot of fun to watch.
