In 1970s Western North Carolina, a young man sees an opportunity to make some easy money but quickly steps into dangerous territory. Having been seriously injured by a vengeful farmer, and disowned by his own family, he is left with no choice but to stay with an ex-school teacher with a past of his own. Realising there are better ways to make a future other than repeating mistakes, the two men work together to learn from the past of their families, a history that they never knew was so bitterly entwined. Based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author Ron Rash, and featuring an all star cast of Noah Wyle (Falling Skies, E.R.) Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) and Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), The World Made Straight is the story of how to right the wrongs of those before you and ​how to pick yourself up when kicked to the curb.
