Meer oor hierdie fliek

James Bond, the world's greatest secret agent, is sent once more into the breach in the name of Queen, Country, and a dry martini. In the 19th Bond adventure, 007 (Pierce Brosnan) must resolve a potentially deadly power struggle between two unstable nations, with control of the world's oil supply as the ultimate prize. Bond is assigned as bodyguard to Elektra King (Sophie Marceau), the daughter of a petroleum magnate who was brutally murdered, and is trying to foil the fiendish plot of Renard (Robert Carlyle), a villain who was shot in the head with an unusual result: he cannot feel physical pain, an apparent failing that proves to be a considerable asset. Denise Richards appears as Dr. Christmas Jones, an expert on nuclear weapons, alongside Desmond Llewelyn as Q, Judi Dench as M, Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny, and John Cleese as R. Alternative rock band Garbage performs the theme song.

...and I'm not really sure why. Brosnan deepens the role of 007 in three short films faster than Connery or Moore could hope to do in all of theirs. Sure, Denise Richards is to acting like vegetable shortening is to an adhesive substance, but we have the lovely Sophie to counteract the bad. One thing that impressed me about this film is that the director Michael Apted was known for his character films; while this is an explosive Bond movie through and through, you definitely see his hints of bringing more character to ones already established. Plus it's Q's last movie!! Why am I the only one that enjoys this one? James Bond will return.

Denise Richards as a scientist....well bond movies are never too realistic are they? Push that to the side, and it's typical bond good action scenes, and a decent villain.

GoldenEye better but Bond's interaction with Electra King drove this film better than Christmas Jones or the forgettable baddie, what's his face.
