Two young soldiers, Bartle (21) and Murph (18) navigate the terrors of the Iraq war under the command of the older, troubled Sergeant Sterling. All the while, Bartle is tortured by a promise he made to Murph's mother before their deployment.

A truthful rendering of the stupidity of conflict and the people who are made, asked or who volunteer to fight on behalf of faceless people in power. It is a sad indictment of the calls for senseless conflict in places that the US has no right to be in.

It's plot based on absurd behaviour, the film's strained profundity serves neither veterans or movie audiences.
