About this movie

Suspecting that those around him are actually malevolent shape-shifters, a troubled man questions whether to protect his only friend from an impending war, or from himself. A genre-bending story about love, loyalty and living nightmares.

I've watched this movie 6 times and love it more now than ever. The over-the-top usage of sensory triggers (buzzing sounds, warped reality, etc) are wildly creepy and just irritating enough to train the viewer to sense impending danger along with the character. Every character has their own unique perspective and part to play. The relationships forged between characters feel genuine and meaningful. There's a lot to wish for in the sequel as well but just enough substance in this part to warrant its own story. I really hope to hear that They Look Like People 2 will be out soon enough. Though, Part 1 still grasps my full attention on demand.

I really wanted to love this. There is one scene-where he's talking to the woman and she does that eye thing that completely creeped me out and I rewatched that scene a few times and the premise is good, one time view movie. I've seen worse and it's not totally bad

While the movie isn't very scary, and it'd be be hardbto recommend to anyone looking for a thrill ride. This is a thoughtful, and surprisingly hopefull psychological horror movie. A great surprise.
