關於這部電影

When their father passes away, four grown siblings (Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Corey Stoll), bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother (Jane Fonda) and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide-- driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.

It seemed like a mash up of Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment, Dawson's Creek'ish drama formula. I think the cast should get honorable mention for bringing to life a predictable script. But I felt I have seen better versions of the the family drama genre. I'd recommend the movie, "Two Weeks" with Sally Field. Dialogue was far more original, and the performances were outstanding.

This had all the makings for a really good movie but some big parts were incredibly miscast. Number one miscast: TINA FEY! Don't get me wrong, I like Tina Fey but it took me by surprise how awful she was in this. Just bad. There are maybe 2 scenes where it called for crying and all she does is scrunch up her face and makes this whiney voice that left me feeling uncomfortable. I would say watch this movie but then you would have to see Tina attempt acting. Adam driver was ok. Loved Jane Fonda

act like a dog on a bowling alley. But if you've been lead by the trailer to believe you would be watching a comedy, you'll be disappointed. Apart from Driver's funny character, and Rose Byrne's eternal charms, most characters are the depressed, angry and unhappy members of a large family searching for happiness, which seem to justify the numerous - and long - self-analysing scenes.
