About this movie

Marvel's "Thor: The Dark World" continues the adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel's "Thor" and "Marvel's The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos...but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. To defeat an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor sets upon his most dangerous and personal journey yet, forced into an alliance with the treacherous Loki to save not only his people and those he loves...but our universe itself.

Although it's better than the first Thor Marvel could still do better. For some reason I always feel like they're setting up a joke. Going from punchline to punchline. I think Marvel has gone downhill since Disney has got its hands on it. These movies are always fun on the big screen the first time you watch them. But when you rent it or buy the DVD and watch it at home you get to see it for what it really is. A big budget cram packed joke.

As a huge Marvel fan, Thor: The Dark World may be my least favorite MCU film. Much like Iron Man 2, it feels mostly like filler. It's not terrible, but it's not great and does little to further the plot of the MCU. It introduces an Infinity Stone but that will be covered in Avengers 3. Loki tricked his way to the throne of Asgard, but that was explained again at the beginning of Thor 3. Everything else that happens is unimportant and not too interesting. If you're an MCU fan desperate to watch something new before Infinity War, and you have seen every other film in the franchise, then give it a watch. But don't feel too guilty if you decide to skip this one.

I love these movies. It takes me back to my Comic reading childhood. I was hesitate to watch the first Thor thinking it was some cheep knockoff of one of my Comic book heros. I was so wrong! From the first minute I was hooked. The grandness of Asgard as she glimmered in the Sun like jewel. Oden, wow, played by Anthony Hopkins was great and the unknown, sexey Chris as Thor was the icing on the cake. This sequel is great! I love all Marvels movies. Can't wait to see more of my heros on the big screen.
