You know those shirts that say something like "Okayest father" well that's my opinion on this movie. It was the okayest marvel movie. It wasn't good it wasn't bad it was just okay. The villain in my opinion was extremely dull and boring. The death of a character was handled okayly. If you see a trailer for Infinity War or Thor Ragnarok you'll realize that one of the characters didn't actually die. I don't really have opinions on any of the other stuff because most of the stuff is just there. It has some funny moments but nothing that will get you laughing too hard. If you want a movie with fun action and intense moments, this is not the movie you're looking for. The Thor movies in my opinion have never really been that good. There wasn't anything you could find here that you couldn't find in any other Marvel film that was better. But hey maybe that's my opinion. If you want to watch all the Marvel films and get excited, Thor movies aren't really like that in my opinion. They're mainly hit or miss.

As a huge Marvel fan, Thor: The Dark World may be my least favorite MCU film. Much like Iron Man 2, it feels mostly like filler. It's not terrible, but it's not great and does little to further the plot of the MCU. It introduces an Infinity Stone but that will be covered in Avengers 3. Loki tricked his way to the throne of Asgard, but that was explained again at the beginning of Thor 3. Everything else that happens is unimportant and not too interesting. If you're an MCU fan desperate to watch something new before Infinity War, and you have seen every other film in the franchise, then give it a watch. But don't feel too guilty if you decide to skip this one.

The Dark World felt more cohesive than Thor. It was nice that the secondary characters added some spice to the movie. I find that Chris Hemsworth isn't as good as Chris Evans at portraying earnestness, but he handles humor well. In general, I have to let go of the notion that superhero movies relate to physics in any meaningful way. Once I let go of that notion, I can enjoy the show. P.S. The Lord of the Rings was informed by Norse mythology, so please stop whining that Thor was going all Lord of the Rings.
