Using pioneering filming techniques, bespoke vehicles and on-bike cameras, TIME TRIAL offers a radical new insight into the world of professional cycling through the eyes of David Millar, the only British rider to have won all of the Tour de France jerseys. We experience the euphoria of the race, but also the tedium in what is Millar’s last encounter with the Tour de France. TIME TRIAL shows just how far a man will go in his will to win.

The title Time Trial is appropriate because they follow David as he tries to sneak one more Tour into his career before time is up on his professional racing days. It is not the film I was expecting but neither did it disappoint. The way they capture some of the bike riding is exceptional, ironically the way the show him Time Trialng at the beginning is perhaps an approach that could be used in race coverage in the future. Well worth a watch

Can I give this 5-plus stars...? A moving portrait of one of my favourite pros, the articulate and foul-mouthed DM, at the end of days in a sport he once loved...and a brutal reminder that this sport is so much harder and more unforgiving than anything we rec riders will ever do on our bikes. Beautiful...don't miss it!!
