Tom Cruise is superb as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a daring young flyer who's out to become the best of the best. And Kelly McGillis sizzles as the civilian instructor who teaches Maverick a few things you can't learn in a classroom.

Great movie, but I can't play it on my xbox through YouTube or anything. It tells me I rented/purchased it but it just says "Something went wrong" and it's impossible to just request a refund. I want my family to see it on our tv and because Chromebook restricts screen-mirroring on a movie I also can't just do that! Yes this should be a review on the movie, but this seems like the only way to get anyones attention regarding simply renting a movie, it not working, and how hard to get a refund!

Tom cruise in one of his slickest defining roles. This is a quintessential 80's film about an egotistical Rogue hero finding enough humility and courage to go out there and be the best. Fun from beginning to end, especially if you grew up in the 80's. For the exact same movie on 4 wheels... check out days of thunder.

I think it's hysterical how many people have fond memories of this movie. But I think they just had terrible childhoods. This movie is hot garbage. Also why do people forget Tom Cruise is a high ranking member of a cult! Also for an "action movie" it's really really really boring! I will never ever understand people's infatuations with this dumpster fire of a movie.
