The movie is a pretty straight forward flick. Guy is unhappy, tries to find his way, gets answers along the way, saves the girl, rescues the city and then is happy. The screen writer felt like adding robots and lasers and explosions makes this a great movie, but it doesn't it just makes it interesting visually. Watch if you like flashy explosions and shooting with a straightforward plot that doesn't require much thinking.

Of all the movies _not_ to try to cash in on the parkour fad, this reboot of Total Recall would have been the one I'd have most easily forgiven for using it, since the future city design just screams for it. Alas, that's just the first of several missed opportunities in this reboot. There are a few well crafted scenes in the movie and the irony is that movie almost does better when it slows down than tries to be action-rific but overall it simpy doesn't have enough fun with the basic mindfreak premise.

I know this is a stickier one than most remakes, but I absolutely LOVED THIS ONE. I think this had a deeper cast which helped move this along a lot better than the original. The original which all told, when you got past the main players just fell flat. I think this was a big time improvement on the original, a better villain 1-2 with Lori and Cohaagen respectively. I think this helped from the time (21st century) which really helped sell the futuristic motif way better than what we got in the 90s. The elevator fight was really good, as was the grand finale. Definitely a fun action film, in a lot of ways to me, better than the original.
