There are moments where the charm of G1 almost shines through... and then there are moments of impossibly loud CG fluff that, despite the supposed gravitas of the world's doom, fail to carry any weight.

This movie rocks bigly. As with all Transformer movie you need to suspend your criticism of mega robots existing. It's pure joy to let your imagination go wild. The script is tight and funny - a brilliantly paced combination of humour and tension. Shia Lebouf knows his character very well. He is talented and, in this movie, credible. Editing is almost perfect, and cinematography is epic. It's a struggle to find things that didn't blow up. This movie is clearly part of a larger story. If I disclose the plot and arc of the characters, you'll miss out on enjoying a great movie and the storyline. I've seen this again and again and still love it's escapism. Highly recommended. 5/5 stars.
