Mayelana nale movie

Featuring Jeremy Irons, TRASHED looks at the risks to the food chain and the environment through pollution of our air, land, and sea by waste. The film reveals surprising truths about very immediate and potent dangers to our health. It is a global conversation from Iceland to Indonesia between the film star Jeremy Irons and scientists, politicians, and ordinary individuals whose health and livelihoods have been fundamentally affected by waste pollution. Visually and emotionally the film is both horrific and beautiful: an interplay of human interest and political wake-up call.

I am an Ecology teacher and showed this to my students in hopes of generating interest in pollution and waste. They were extremely bored and honestly, so was I. It was not presented in a manner that made for entertaining and engaging viewing, and therefore it was hard to pay attention long enough to glean any new learning from this film. The experts spoke in arcane language that quickly lost the interest of my students and the focus on cows and goats was not relevant to their lives. I would not recommend showing this film to high school students.

A bit too simplistic with an excessive reliance on Jeremy Irons (sincere but sometimes a bit over the top in his generalizations/extrapolations from his one-on-one conversations (many times w/o context & w/o credentials) and otherwise too often anectodatal evidence.
