When a crew of criminals and corrupt police officers (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Clifton Collins Jr., Aaron Paul and Norman Reedus) is blackmailed by the Russian mob boss Irina Vlaslov (Kate Winslet) to execute a virtually impossible heist, the only way to pull it off is to manufacture a 999, police code for “officer down”. With Sergeant Detective Jeffrey Allen (Woody Harrelson) hot on their trail, the intricate plan is turned upside down when Chris Allen (Casey Affleck), the rookie cop they set up to die, foils the attack, triggering a breakneck, action-packed finale filled with double-crosses, greed and revenge.
