Trained by the Nazis to spy for the Third Reich inside England, Chapman then becomes a key agent for British Intelligence, engaging in counterspy operations that feed disinformation to the Nazi war machine -- and outwitting the enemy brass so completely he is awarded the Iron Cross. The year after The Sound of Music and over four decades before his Oscar®-winning Best Supporting Actor performance in 2010's Beginners, versatile Christopher Plummer portrays suave Chapman in this spy thriller whose superb cast includes Yul Brynner as Chapman's German espionage mentor and Trevor Howard as a British spy chief. Terence Young (Dr. No, Thunderball) directs, giving a caper-like feel to this fact-based film that also costars Thunderball's Claudine Auger and Goldfinger's Gert Frobe.
