Perfect adaptation of a classic novel in which digresson is the order of the day. True, both the novel and this adaption require a steadfast tolerancd and appreciation of the humor of a shaggy-dog story, but if you have that, ypu will love both. At two hours or so, the movie requires less strengrh of humor than the book, but it is a perfect introduction to the joys of the book, which is, after all, written in 18th century language, which takes its own work to follow for page after page, although
