About this movie

Endangered African species like elephants, rhinos and lions march closer to extinction each year. Their devastating decline is fueled in part by a global desire to consume these majestic animals. TROPHY investigates the powerhouse industries of big-game hunting, breeding and wildlife conservation. Through the eyes of impassioned individuals who drive these industries – from a Texas-based trophy hunter to the world’s largest private rhino breeder in South Africa – the film grapples with the consequences of imposing economic value on animals. What are the implications of treating animals as commodities? Do breeding, farming and hunting offer some of the few remaining options to conserve our endangered animals? TROPHY will leave you debating what is right, what is wrong and what is necessary in order to save the great species of the world.

Great documentary but its sad... that the human race has destroyed so much of life on this planet. that there are people out there trying to preserve some of these animals in a way that allows them to live but still provide a source of income is truly amazing. The crime is that no one wants to allow this, its a harmless process for the animal, to kill them for their horn is a waste when the animal can provide more alive, in conservation and in product. We do this will cows, chickens, sheep, and horses. they all provide something that does not need to be the death of the animal in fact most of these animals are worth more alive. Its stupid for the african government to say that they need to just allow trophy hunters to kill some of their animals so they can create revenue so they can continue to keep these animals. Makes you loose faith in humanity...

This documentary shows the mentality of people who hunts wild animals for whatever reason. Some reasons sound ridiculous. After watching this trophy-hunting documentary, I become more and more agreeing with those people who adopt vegan nowadays. Vegan-people are really good, nice and great human-beings.
