Kate Perkin, a single woman in her early thirties, works in a benefits office in England. A moment of flirtation with a claimant initially seems like a blip in her routine. But Kate finds herself thrown into a relationship that overtakes every other priority: blowing off her close friend, lying to her employer. All to keep impulsive arrangements with a man she knows nothing about – saved in her phone as "Blond". A blind date offers a route back to the safe and conventional, but Kate reels into a drunken night with Blond, which peaks with him declaring them soulmates, asking her to join him on a trip abroad. When the high wears off, so does Blond's warmth. Confused, Kate takes it out on her life, quarreling with her parents, getting herself fired. Again, Kate tries to get things back on track. Again, Blond reappears. Soon enough, she's on a plane. Will sunlight disinfect their strange interactions? Or is she being drawn in only to be pushed away?
