An artist falls for a young married woman while he's commissioned to paint her portrait during the tulip mania of 17th century Amsterdam. The two invest in the risky tulip market in hopes to build a future together.

I thought it was a lovely story, I now want to read it. I didn't know much about it but I am glad I took the time to watch it.
