A 'love it or hate it' type film, not much room for middle ground on this one. Some moments are very Kevin Smith, others are very Human Centipede. I loved it, but I knew what I was getting into going in, as a listener of the podcast this stemmed from. I suspect most will have a hard time with the Human Centipede -esque visuals and miss the whole point of the film.

All around film that grips you right from the beginning and doesn't let you go till the credits role. Yes, Depps over the top character is nothing like the Canadian Detectives of reality but that is the thing about this film. It's a nod to Canada from Smith and probably Depp. Even for Seasoned film watchers, this film is highly disturbing. Rewatch factor is low, but required. Oh YEA, I am a forty something Canadian and I respect and love the fact Smith digs my country, though not entirely accurate, lol!

Crosses the Human Centipede with Misery. The weird and unfunny fixation with Canadian stereotypes fall flat and ruin an otherwise promising dark comedy.
