Om denne filmen

In the waning days of World War II, the Navy warship USS Indianapolis secretly delivered one of two atomic bombs that would eventually end the war. The Japanese attacked and sank the heavy cruiser. The USS Indianapolis’ mission was so classified it was not reported missing, and no one knew the ship had been attacked until four days later. Of the 1197 crewmembers, nearly 300 went down with the ship. Stranded in the shark-infested waters of the Philippine Sea, the remaining survivors of the USS Indianapolis endured hunger, thirst, heat, delirium, relentless shark attacks and the death of many shipmates. Five days later only 316 men survived and were eventually rescued.

I love the story of the Indy. It was still impossible to finish this movie. Do not rent this movie. I promise it's way more entertaining to just read the story somewhere else. I'm sure there's a high-school AV club that's super proud of their SFX, but they didn't do any better than the writers. Must have been the same crew from Solo. On top of everything else, they managed to capture really bad acting out of good actors. Impressive

The last 15 minutes of this movie is without a doubt a five star, everything else is barely a one star. It's a shame such a good historic movie was so poorly acted, and so poorly written. If you ever find this on cable and you DVR the movie, the last 15 minutes will have you in tears, it is amazing. Sadly the rest of the movies stinks

This is a historically significant film prying deep into the conflict between military duty/honor & basic human decency. Although war is always cruel & final victory bittersweet the cost of human lives & depravity of one's soul are cost often too great to bear, for anyone. Nicolas Cage has portrayed that internal struggle quite successfully.
