I've been a 40K fan for years and i must admit, i got giddy by simply hearing that this movie existed. As much as I'd like to gush about all the things I thought this movie did right, it would be a disservice to overlook all of the things it did wrong. The CG looks like it came out of a rejected GameCube game. That being said, space marine power armor looked cool and I can think of at least half a dozen moments that I would gladly use for my desktop wallpaper, but I can think of too many times where I was distracted by bland terrain or awkwardly shaped space marine heads to have really enjoyed the aesthetic. The story was so very "okay" that there's not much to say about it. The best part about the writing was simply that the space marines talk and act like I would expect them to. The music is heralded as the best part for good reason, there's not much i can say about it that hasn't already been said. All in all, this movie had detail and focus put into the most obscure places and I think that gives it some of it's charm, but I also know that it should have been much better than it was. With a bigger crew and budget this movie might have been truly great.

This movie is utter trash. I am a huge nerd for warhammer 40k. I have hundreds of books. But this...this is appalling. Aside from its incredibly simple and boring story. You are also hit by the horrid and lackluster settings. Dan probably had nothing to do with this garbage other than signing his name on it. There is no way he would pen such a shoddy and to be completely honest. BORING. you will be bored. This is hardly action packed and just like with dow 2 scaled down warfare. Don't waste $ stream it

The animation was good but the storyline was lacking. It was great to see that they had some big time actors doing the voices , but the storyline was just not there , would love to see another one set in the 40k universe just put some more thought into what the story line is going to be about make us care about these characters
