Despite what others are saying, Tom Hanks was the perfect choice to play Mr. Rogers. At times he sounded and looked so much like him that I felt Mr. Rogers was actually there. No, this isn't a documentary. It never claimed to be. It is a movie based on an article written by the main character in this movie, whose real name wasn't used in the movie. If you have read the article (which I did), you know some parts of the movie are made up (he never punched his father at a wedding). And some really happened (school children did sing to Mr. Rogers on the subway). What I liked most about this movie however, was simply remembering Mr. Rogers. How he changed people's lives and made them want to be better people. We need a Mr. Rogers right now. Watch this movie, you won't regret it.

I didn't grow up with Mr. Rogers. But all the same I feel like he's the person everyone needs; his message of hope is exactly what I needed. This movie moved me to tears, it made me smile, it made me reflect; This is an amazing movie about friendship, family, how to deal with the mad that you feel. I highly recommend it to those who wish to revisit the neighborhood of Make Believe; and to those (like myself) who have discovered Mr. Rogers in their adulthood.

Disregard the bogus negative reviews. Saying Tom Hanks isn't a good choice for this this role is simply asinine and couldn't be further from the truth. With over 11K of user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes it's at 92%. Go watch it, you'll be glad you did.
