Meer oor hierdie fliek

Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie directs and produces this epic drama that follows the incredible life of Olympian and war hero Louis "Louie" Zamperini (Jack O'Connell) who, along with two other crewmen, survived on a raft for 47 days after a near-fatal plane crash in WWII – only to be caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. Adapted from Laura Hillenbrand's (Seabiscuit: An American Legend) enormously popular book, it's the inspiring true story about the resilient power of the human spirit. One of the worst big budget films I've ever seen. The book sounded like it was amazing. The film started out strong and was quite interesting, At some point there is a drawn out section where the main character has to fight for his life, and then ends up in captivity, from that point on the movie meanders through some ridiculous direction. I can't figure out why I'm supposed to at all interested when the story has clearly become complete fiction from the real story. So sad, the original book couldn't simply have been used.

This was a really emotional and moving movie about how racism and discrimination portrayed a major role during the war in 1946, according to this movie. It was really interesting to learn about Louie's story before he was held as a POW by the Japanese military. I would definitely recommend this movie to another person. Louie, in my perspective, was a character that never gave up even though he was beaten, brutalized and tortured for days and days out in the open sea and by the Japanese military.

I waited for this movie for so long, when it first came out I saw the critics reviews and they are wrong and all low-lifes, I watched his movie and it was so powerful, motivational, and inspirational. This was by far the best movie I have ever seen in my life. Not only is inspiration and motivation hard to find these days, but also you cant find a good movie now without the f-word being repeated 100 times, trust me that you will not find a better uplifting movie, so please don't listen to the critics. 11/10
